Sustainability is at the heart of Guinness Ghana’s purpose.
Through our “Brewing a Better Ghana” agenda, we align business growth with positive social and environmental outcomes, focusing on Water Stewardship, Agricultural Sourcing, Circular Economy, and Community Well-being.

Water Stewardship

  • Reduced total water consumption by 25 % since 2018.
  • Achieved 7 litres of water per litre of beer produced — among the most efficient in West Africa.
  • Recycled and reused 35 % of process water through in-house treatment plants.
  • Partnered with Ghana Water Company to extend community access to safe drinking water in 20 districts.

Energy & Climate Action

  • Transitioned 40 % of brewery power to solar and biogas energy sources.

  • Fleet transition to hybrid vehicles began in 2023.

Waste & Circular Economy

  • Zero waste to landfill achieved since 2022.
  • 98 % of spent grain and yeast reused as animal feed for local farmers.
  • Glass and PET collection partnership with Jekora Ventures — over 12 million bottles recycled in 2023.
  • Packaging light-weighting reduced material use by 14 %.
